Jeff Barlis has 20 years of multimedia experience in newspapers, magazines, Internet, television and movies. After graduating from the University of Florida in 1993, Barlis was a copy editor for The Tampa Tribune and went on to work within the company for Tampa Bay Online and WFLA, Newschannel 8. Barlis worked as an Internet and television producer for Fox Sports in New York and Los Angeles before moving back to Gainesville in 2005. He became the assistant sports editor of The Gainesville Sun in 2005 and was also named online sports editor in 2007. His favorite sports to watch are football, basketball, hockey and baseball (the big four). His favorite sports to play are tennis, basketball, snowboarding, wakeboarding and tailgating.
